Homemade Candles

I personally hand-pour all our candles in my kitchen here in Devon. Our candles are made from the finest rapeseed and coconut wax, not paraffin or soy wax. We also use cotton wicks, and our fragrances are free from phthalates and parabens, meaning these harmful chemicals are not part of the product's formula.

Soy wax, although natural, renewable, and biodegradable, is not the most sustainable wax. There are many concerns regarding the huge Soybean industry, such as in deforestation and the use of pesticides and fertilisers to grow the soy plants

We have tried to be as eco- and vegan-friendly as possible by using recycled paper labels, reusable glass, and tins as useful storage containers.

  • Always burn your candles within sight and never leave unattended

  • Always burn your candles on a heat-resistant surface and away from anything flammable that can catch on fire

  • Keep out of reach from children and pets

  • Avoid drafts and direct sunlight

  • Never move a burning candle and ensure the wax is solid and cool before handling

  • Never use water or the lid to extinguish a candle

  • A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight

  • A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time  and cool for at least two hours before relighting.

  • Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1cm of wax remains in the container

  • Do not use your candle if the glass is chipped or cracked

  • Candle top may become uneven in between burns; this is just a characteristic of natural waxes,
